On Wednesday 25th May 2016 the Eurozone finance ministers met in Brussels to discuss the bailout conditions of Greece. During this meeting a deal with the international creditors was made to loan a further 10.3bn Euros to Greece in an aid to boost Greece's economy and help end the country’s vicious circle of austerity and recession.

German Bund yield nears record lows

German 10 year bond yields have fallen to their lowest level in a year and are within touching distance of their record lows. Analysts believe this is being driven by high bond redemptions this week, which at €55 billion, is five times the amount of debt sales this week. That volume of cash flowing back to investors is likely to further bolster demand for German paper, which is already supported by the increase in the ECB’s QE.
